6. Do all cosmetic work to your home, such as painting and basic fixes, yourself. Labor charges for call outs are insane.

7. Buy clothes on the cheap. You don’t need to go to thrift store if you don’t want to, but Kohl’s and even nicer places like Von Maur have surprisingly good deals, esp off seasons

8. Enjoy cheaper brands of alcohol — there are some good ones out there. Forget cognac when there are very good home brandies like Christian Brothers. A fifth of whiskey never needs to be more than 15–20 for mid week sipping. Some good ones out there for ten.

9. Buy used video games if you enjoy such things. We own a switch, but still enjoy the wii. Some darn good games can be had for under five bucks on Amazon.
