A good article, thank you. My only contention is equating Brexit to Trumpism. Respectfully, this is a lazy habit. The political boundaries and their implications differ from country to country, regardless of any overlap. Sure, all the racists would have voted for Brexit, but if you dichotomize things then whatever is an inch to the right (like lower taxes) will be voted for by all the racists. It doesn’t mean that everyone who voted for Brexit is a racist. Do you know that the EU, and it’s officials who were voted in by 28 countries, have been writing 77% of British laws. When David Cameron was PM, he went to the EU for a cob session or compromise 71 times, and was ignored or refused it 71 times. Think about all that that for a moment. Were something of equivalence happening here in the States, I don’t think many well meaning democrats would be down with that, let alone anyone else. It is perfectly possible to be a pro Biden and pro Brexit. Have a good one!
