Whoever dreamed up the idea that non-commitment and a come and go as you please relationship — and the endless risk of it just disappearing on you — would be less stressful than having mutual commitment and facing head on (or adjusting to) the parts you don’t like about that other person.

People wonder why mental health is so poor as we lose our moorings to anything bigger than ourselves and today’s feelings.
